Sure, fat does really contain more calories per ounce, but it won’t stick to your blood and make you hungrier like sugar will. In fact, consuming some fatty foods can actually be healthy for your heart, liver, and waistline.

But we don’t want to be exclusive with this – not all low-fat foods are unhealthy. Just make sure that low-fat you’re looking at doesn’t have immense amounts of sugar, or you’re be doing yourself a counter-favor.

3. Calories Matter Most

As we’ve mentioned before, losing weight in a healthy manner does not have one simple rule to it. The same applies for calories, which are apparently the main concern of every dieter out there.

A great number of people is convinced that burning 3,500 calories is equal to losing one pound of body weight. This is true in some cases, but each person has their own way of processing and using calories, which means every one of us has a different calculation than the one above.

Furthermore, let’s not forget that not all calories are the same. Eating 200 calories in junk food and the same amount of steamed veggies won’t result in the same outcome, as different foods pack different nutrients and compounds.

Although quick fixes and shortcuts are the ultimate weight loss killers, taking things too slow might cause the same type of failure while wasting even more of your time and effort.

Once you lose a hefty amount of weight, your body only has so much time before it readjusts its metabolism and slows down. This point is critical in any diet, but waiting around makes this process much longer.
