During the surgery

In general, when we seek natural beauty tips via cosmetic practitioners, we understand that a face-lift includes elevating the skin and tightening the loose tissues and muscles. Fat in the face and neck may be removed. Facial skin is then recovered over the newly repositioned shape of the face, extra skin is removed, and the incision is sutured or closed.

The incisions for the surgery depend on the technology that will be used and the patient’s priorities.

Options include:

  • A traditional face-lift incision starts at your forehead to hairline, continues down and around the front of your ears and ends behind your ears in your lower scalp. A cut might be made under your chin to improve the looks of your neck.
  • A limited incision is a shorter cut that begins in your hairline just above your ear, covers around the front of your ear, but does not increase all the way into the lower scalp.
  • Neck lift incision starts from your earlobe and continues around your ear into your lower scalp. A small cut also is made under your chin.

A face-lift generally takes two to four hours but might take longer if more cosmetic surgeries are done at the same time.
